Dinner For Friends

That's my one of my dearest friends Rashmi. We met in Dubai through work in 2006 and have remained buddies ever since. She is currently visiting her husband Daegal's sister and family in Canada so I was extremely excited to have them all over for a meal. Rashmi has always been a big supporter of my cooking so it went without saying that I had to cook for her before they left. It's been a maddening week for me so I kept it simple and accepted help from Tahnee (Daegal's sister) and Cheryl, another friend to bring some appetizers to nibble on. Suffice to say we were all stuffed before dinner even started.

I made mushrooms sautéed in garlic, chilli flakes and butter.

Dinner was a simple pea pulao made with basmati rice and aromatised with cinnamon and bay leaves.

Apple Brown Betty. This flopped really badly but we ate it anyway. Obviously, everything tastes better with ice cream.
